The newest Middie Blythe doll is a special collaboration with Japanese fashion brands, Muchacha and Achachum! Their funky and fun style is so playful it fits the true spirit of Blythe.

Here is her story:

“Middie Blythe Nekogatsu Zukin she is the guardian of the Miracle Mushroom Garden in the village of Muchacha, of the country of Achachum.
The magical garden brings happiness to everyone in in Achachum. It is a strange and mysterious place! Nekogatsu Zukin’s shoes are bright red with little cat faces on them.
Legend has it when she walks, her shoes say “meow meow”.”

Junie Moon is hosting a photo exhibition of Ayanami Rei x Blythe -White Light- with original photos by Blythe creative producer Mrs. Junko Wong!

This wonderful display features Ayanami Rei in a surreal and otherworldly landscapes. Many of the photos were taken at the lava flows and peak of Haleakala volcano in Maui, Hawaii.

Dear Junie Moon friends,

We are all preparing for the big holiday! If you would like to receive your shipment by December 25th, the last order date is December 12.

Please get your order in by this date to ensure you can receive your parcel in time for Christmas.

The last shipping date for 2012 from Junie Moon is Dec18th. Junie Moon online shopping customer service will be closed from December 27 to January 7th.
Any orders placed between December 18 to January 7th will be processed and shipped from January 8th.

Again, please note, there will be no online customer service representatives available during the Japanese holiday and new year holidays.

The holiday season is finally here and we can’t wait to share our Christmas cheer with you!

This year we have taken fashion nods from The Nutcracker and created sophisticated velveteen dresses with contemporary, cute design points. The sweet puff sleeves, poofy skirt and Peter Pan color makes this holiday dress seasonally spectacular. The look is topped off with a Russian inspired fur cap to keep Blythe cozy in the winter months. Blythe Knows newsletter sat down with Blythe Creative Producer, Mrs. Junko Wong to talk about the upcoming collaboration with Evangelion and Blythe.

Q 1: あやなみれいみーつぶらいす-ほわいとらいと-」をつくろうとおもったきっかけをおしえてください。
What inspired you to collaborate with Evangelion to create the Ayanami Rei Meets Blythe - White Light doll?

A 1: エヴァンゲリオンはとても複雑で深い物語。

息子と一緒に映画を観たとき、すっかり
魅了され、そして同時にたくさんの質問が頭に浮かび、それを考えながら家路につき
ました。息子は私に映画をわかるように説明してくれました。映画のなかの日本語を
英語に翻訳するという意味ではなく、映画の構想や、哲学、内容などを説明してくれ
たのです。そのとき、ふと思ったのは、もしブライスがエヴァンゲリオンとコラボレー
ションをしたら、どんなふうになるのかしらってこと。その途端、エヴァンゲリオン
の登場人物のことをもっと知りたくなったし、このコラボレーションは今までのどん
なコラボレーション・ドールとも違うものができあがる確信がわきました。挑戦して
みたい、もしかしたらものすごく難しい挑戦になるだろう、ブライスのいままでの歴
史に刻まれるようなもの、本物のコレクターズ・アイテムになるに違いない！
そう思い、制作をはじめました。

The story of Evangelion is very complicated and deep. I was mesmerized
with the movie and had a lot of questions to take home after viewing
it with my son. He of course was my translator throughout the film,
and it is not the language he needed to translate, but the plot, the
philosophy, the concept. I wondered then, if we were to ever do a
collaboration with Blythe, how that would turn out. I would certainly
know more about the character and it would certainly be very different
from what we have ever done. It is a challenge and more than anything,
it would be historical. A real collectors item. So we decided to go
for it.

Q 2: エヴァンゲリオンのとうじょうじんぶつのなかで、なぜ　あやなみれいをえらんだのですか？
Why did you select Ayanami Rei as the character from the series to be depicted as Blythe?

A 2: 彼女は映画の登場人物のなかで群を抜いて人気がありますから、彼女を選ぶことは大
きな挑戦でした。そして、彼女はドールのもつ要素、つまり静けさや深さをすでに持
ち合わせていて、それが何とも言えない魅力になっていました。ですから、もしブラ
イスがエヴァンゲリオンの物語のなかに登場するのであれば、きっと綾波レイのよう
になったし、もし綾波レイがドールになるとしたら、ブライスのようになったと思っ
たのです。二人はひとつ、同一性があったのです。

She is by far the most popular of the characters in the story and the most challenging to create. She is also very much like a doll, silent, deep and yet extremely appealing. I thought if Blythe were to be a character in the story she would be like Ayanami Rei and if Ayanami Rei were to be a doll she would be Blythe. They are one.
